We collected some finger licking recipes made with Hellmann’s delicious and creamy mayo that would be perfect for your next barbeque!

We all know the star of every barbeque is the meat, but your side dishes can make or break your meal! Let’s break away from the regular green salad and braai broodjies and try out some new dishes!


1 kg Potatoes, peeled & cut.

1 cup Hellmann’s Mayonnaise.

2 tbsp. Vinegar.

1 ½ tsp. Salt.

1 tsp. Sugar.

¼ tsp. Ground black pepper.

1 cup thinly sliced celery.

½ cup Chopped onion.

2 Hard-cooked eggs, (optional).


  • Cover potatoes with water in a pot and bring to boil. Reduce the heat and let simmer until the potatoes are tender, ± 10 mins. Drain and cool slightly.
  • Combine the mayonnaise, vinegar, salt, sugar, and pepper in a bowl. Add the potatoes & remaining ingredients and toss. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Hellmann’s Corn ‘Ribs’

Add some colour to your barbeque with these delicious corn ‘ribs’. Packed with flavour and super easy to make, pop these corn ‘ribs’ right on the barbeque next to your steak for a healthy side dish!


4 Ears of corn

4 tbsp. Hellmann’s Mayonnaise

1 ½ tsp. Chili powder

¼ cup Cilantro

½ tsp. Ground cumin

¼ cup of Cheese

Lime wedges


  • Combine 2 tbsp. of the mayo, 1 tsp. chili powder and ½ tsp. of cumin in a cup and set it aside.
  • Cut the corn in half through the core. Place the corn core side down and cut into halves lengthwise.
  • Brush the corn with the mayo mixture and grill for 8 to 10 mins until lightly charred and tender.
  • To serve, sprinkle with the cheese and cilantro, then drizzle the remaining 2 tbsp. of mayo, sprinkle the remaining chili powder, and serve with a lime wedge!

Hellmann’s Classic Macaroni Salad

For a classic side dish worthy of every braai master, try this yummy macaroni salad!


225g Macaroni.

1 cup Hellmann’s Mayonnaise.

1 tbsp. Mustard.

2 tbsp. Vinegar.

1 cup Sliced celery.

1 cup Chopped bell pepper.

¼ cup Onion

1 tsp. Sugar

Salt & Pepper


  • Cook the macaroni according to the package directions; drain & rinse the macaroni with cold water until it is completely cool.
  • Combine the Hellmann’s Mayo, vinegar, mustard, sugar, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Stir in the macaroni, celery, green pepper, and onion. Served chilled.
